Overview

The 2010 A5 is a 2-door, 4-passenger sports coupe which improves on the concept of a classic coupe with its muscular, low-slung stance and pronounced singleframe grille with available LED daytime running lights. For 2010, an all new 2.0-liter engine delivers 211 horsepower and an astounding 258 lb-ft of torque through quattro all-wheel drive. This four-passenger coupe competes with BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes Benz CLK-Class. It is available in Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige trims. The A5 is also available in Cabriolet versions.

Power and performance

The all new 2.0-liter, I4, 211-horsepower, turbo engine yields 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. Also, a 3.2-liter, V6, 265-horsepower engine achieves 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard with this power train.

Body and styling

Audi's traditional wide-mouth grille that rests between lower air intakes give and standard 18-inch alloy wheels give a unique look to this sports coupe. A panorama sunroof is standard. The A5 features technological advancements as available features that enhance both interior and performance luxury. Fully automatic air conditioning; leather upholstery; electrically adjustable front seats; 60/40 split folding rear seatback; storage package; interior lighting; panoramic sunroof; backlit instrument cluster with automatic brightness control; decorative inlays; three-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel; cruise control; rain and light sensor; Bluetooth, MMI operating system; Audi Symphony Radio; Audi sound system; Sirius Satellite Radio; halogen ellipsoid beam headlamps; front fog lights and many more amenities are standard on the A5. The optional Bang & Olufsen sound system includes 14 speakers with 505 digitally amplified watts and surround sound reproduction. Audi Music Interface, genuine Milano Leather seats, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and genuine wood leather interior inlays are also optional.

Safety Features

The A5 employs a number of active and passive safety systems to help avoid emergency situations. Four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes; LATCH; six standard airbags that include the front and side-impact airbags for the front seats, and side curtain airbags for both rows; traction control and an electronic stability system are standard.
