The Audi A8 is Audi's flagship sedan that delivers impressive power and performance, along with great luxury. The 2010 Audi A8 is offered in three versions: the base A8; the A8L and the A8L W12. It competes with Mercedes Benz S-Class; Lexus LS 460 and the BMW 7 Series, providing sporty handling, high level of ride comfort and posh features.

Power and performance

The three A8 trims are distinguished based upon the size of the wheelbase and engine. The A8 features a V-8 engine and standard wheelbase, while the A8L gets a V-8 engine and an extended wheelbase. The A8L W12 has a W-12 engine and a long-wheelbase body. This model offers a greater degree of space and luxury. A 4.2-liter, 40-valve, V-8 that produces 350 hp and 325 lb ft of torque using direct fuel injection is standard on A8 and A8L. The A8LW-12 gets a powerful 6.0-liter, 12-cylinder engine that generates burly 450 horsepower, at a surprisingly low torque of 428 lb ft of torque. These engines are teamed with a six-speed Tiptronic transmission and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Despite having such powerful engines in a huge body, the 2010 Audi A8 is amazingly agile vehicle.

The 2010 Audi A8 offers a good number of amenities as expected of luxury sedan. A8L W12 is most well-equipped of the models.
